Campaign FAQs

Campaigns are a contribution based  fundraising platform.  Anyone can create a campaign for a well-intended, good natured cause.  They can be shared via text, email, or social media. The campaign creator determines how the funds will be used. Campaign types include anything from an individual request to a large entity. Causes can include but aren’t limited  to: charities, schools, political, activism, environment, health, animal welfare, etc.

At the present time campaigns will be limited to $50,000 per our agreement with our vendor bank.  This limitation may be subject to change by our vendor bank.

There is a $50,000 limit per campaign. There is a $50,000 limit that can be in the account at any one time. The campaigns are subject to the CMW Terms of Service, CMW Privacy Policy and the terms of our vendor bank or processors, all of which can be accessed as noted in our website.

The campaign will be concluded when the target date is reached even if you have not reached your goal.  When the campaign is concluded the funds should be released to the beneficiary of the campaign.

Funds can only be withdrawn when the goal has been reached or the target date has occurred.

Campaign Originators, who set up these crowdfunding accounts should use the tax ID number of the beneficiary of the funds. In doing so, the beneficiary will receive the 1099-K and is in a better position to claim that the funds are a gift. Should the IRS take the position that it is income, which is doubtful, the beneficiary may be in a better position to offset the income in terms of deductions.

Funds will be sent to your bank account after the campaign is completed. Standard processing applies normally 2-3 days.

You need to upload a JPEG or GIF image – not a .PNG file with a transparent background.

There is a 4.5% campaign setup and management fee.  In addition there is a credit card processing fee of 2.85% for any donations made via credit card.  A .50 fee is assessed on any donation made via wallet balance funds.

The business model created allows users to sign up and launch their campaign for no expense. The campaigns are free of advertisements and distractions that may annoy or harass donors.

While it is not feasible for CMW to investigate every claim made by each Promoter of a Campaign we do provide prospective donors with the tools to make an informed decision as to who they choose to support. While CMW and its payment partners do provide several safeguards to deter fraud, “Do not donate to people you do not know personally and trust.” For more information, and a complete terms of service please visit: www.causemobilewallet.com/terms/
